A dohar is more than just a bedroom essential—it’s a blend of comfort, warmth, and style. Whether you use it during cool summer nights or as an extra layer in winter, proper care is essential to keep your dohar soft, vibrant, and long-lasting. Here are some simple yet effective tips to maintain your dohar.

1. Wash with Care
Always check the care label before washing. Most cotton dohars can be machine-washed with mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals and bleach, as they can damage the delicate fabric and reduce softness.
2. Use Cold Water
Washing your dohar in cold water helps retain its colors and prevents shrinkage. This also makes the fabric last longer without losing its natural texture.
3. Gentle Drying
Air-drying is best for dohars. If using a dryer, select a low-heat setting to avoid fabric wear and tear. Drying under direct sunlight occasionally can also help keep your dohar fresh and odor-free.
4. Store Properly
When not in use, fold your dohar neatly and store it in a cool, dry place. Using a cotton storage bag prevents dust accumulation and protects it from moisture or insects.
5. Avoid Frequent Washing
Unlike bedsheets, dohars don’t need frequent washes. Shaking it out and airing it once a week helps maintain freshness, reducing unnecessary washing that can shorten its lifespan.
